As an ASHA, I want to mark a beneficiary as “Death” in any Disease Control module when I report a death in the field, so that the Beneficiary’s record is automatically updated in the system with details of death and synced to AMRIT for accurate reporting and program data consistency.
Applicable Disease Control Modules
- NVBDCP – Malaria
- Kala Azar (KA)
- AES / JE
- Filaria
- Leprosy
Acceptance Criteria
ASHA Workflow
- In each Disease Control module (Malaria, KA, AES/JE, Filaria, Leprosy), ASHA can view beneficiaries under her area.
- For each beneficiary, ASHA can select an option “Mark as Death” (available under beneficiary details or treatment follow-up screen).
- When selected, a popup/form appears to capture the following mandatory details:
| Field | Description / Validation |
|---|---|
| Date of Death | Mandatory; Cannot be a future date |
| Place of Death | Dropdown: Home / Hospital / Other |
| Reason for Death | Free text / dropdown (e.g., Disease-related, Other Cause) |
| Remarks (Optional) | Free text |
- On clicking Submit, the system updates the:
- Beneficiary’s Status = “Death” in the Disease Control module
- Corresponding Beneficiary Master Record with the same details
Automatic Update to Beneficiary Master Record
- Once ASHA saves the record, the system automatically updates:
- Beneficiary Status = “Death”
- Date of Death, Place of Death, Reason for Death in the Beneficiary Master Table.
- The update should be instant (if online) or queued for sync (if offline).
Sync with AMRIT
- The updated death information must be ** synced to AMRIT through the existing integration mechanism.
- Sync includes:
- Beneficiary ID
- Updated Status = Death
- Date of Death
- Place of Death
- Reason for Death
Notifications & Confirmation
- After saving, ASHA receives an on-screen message:
“Beneficiary marked as Deceased. Details updated and synced to AMRIT successfully.” - If offline, show:
“Beneficiary marked as Deceased. Data will sync once internet is available.”
